With each graduation, we have the joy of seeing students launch into a new season of life – students who were reached and discipled through our ministry.
Michelle was among our group of graduates this year; she and her best friend were both reached during their first week as freshmen at Florida State. When I asked Michelle to share about how our ministry had helped her during her college years, she testified that our campus ministry community was one of “genuine love and concern.” Michelle’s faith blossomed during her first year of college.
Even more growth was to come in her later college years: She had her heart set on admission to the FSU College of Nursing, but after several years of difficult prerequisite courses her application was rejected. This was a devastating blow for Michelle. All her life, nursing was the only thing she had wanted to do. In the months following, she struggled with depression and even feelings of worthlessness.
In the midst of this deep disappointment, God was at work in her life. Michelle writes: “In that year I grew the most in my Christian walk and Every Nation was always there for me. Worship, Life Group and ENCM were the avenues that kept me running to God. I don’t know what I would have done in that time without my Christian family.”
The next year, Michelle re-applied and was admitted. She has now graduated, and found her first job in the nursing profession! Thanks to all our partners for helping us provide support and encouragement for students like Michelle. As she moves on into this new stage of life, please join us in praying for her and all the other graduates, that they would be a witness for Christ wherever they go.
