As we unload the boxes from the back of the truck and put them on the dolly, it’s raining, hard. Up one flight of steps, then up another, then through the lobby. The elevator is broken, so now it’s time to carry this mini-refrigerator up three flights of stairs – this was what move-in looked like, as we mobilized our ministry to serve incoming students at FAMU and FSU.
While moving, one grateful parent at FAMU appeared to be shocked to find out that this group of students helping in pouring rain were volunteers doing this to express the love of Christ on campus. Countless moments like this, during an unusually rainy week in August, helped open up relationships with many new students. Here are a couple photos of students from our ministry helping with the move in:
At our first large-group meetings of the semester three students gave their lives to Christ for the first time and many more re-committed their lives to the Lord! We had well attended large-group campus meetings at both FAMU and FSU during the first week of classes. Many of these students got connected into one of our campus ministry’s 13 student-led small group Bible studies.
We launch into this new year of ministry with hope, encouraged with what the Lord is doing, and anticipating a fruitful season of ministry ahead!
